Yes, there were dozens of candles, some floating in glass cups of water, others perched on chairs, tables, and counters, and still others resting on shiny CDs creating a beautiful effect...real David O'Neill style!
Michael Buble graced us with his presence as his voice crooned precious love songs of devotion and bliss through the room...
And what were my first words? Did I know what was going on? Heck NO! I said, "it's pretty" then looked at him and asked, "what's going on?" you see I did NOT want to jump to conclusions OR guess wrong because if I did and I WAS wrong, well, how embarrassing that would have been! Not to mention a huge let down.
So I played along...we walked through the candle-lit path of memories looking at countless pictures of great memories, reading old love notes, poems, and Valentines Day cards, and reminiscing on our 5 years as a couple.
Then came the big moment; David turned me around to face him, got down on his knee (this was when I knew without a doubt what was happening) pulled out a gorgeous diamond ring, and asked me to marry him!
I SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We then preceded to pop open a bottle of our favorite wine/champagne mix and said a toast to our future!
After that I was so excited I wanted to walk through the path again more carefully...examining EVERY little detail :) Then we sat down to skype our parents and sisters with the happy news! They were so excited.
The next day we boarded a plane for Nebraska and Thanksgiving to share our joy with family and friends!
